INFORAS International Forwarders Association Ltd. was founded 2011 in Hong Kong.
The field of activity of the amalgamation is the purchase and procurement of freight and warehouse services as well as their coordination for the members of the amalgamation, in particular through the cooperation with shippers, port enterprises, blanket container operators, lorry transport enterprises, rail companies, inland waterway shipping companies, airlines and other transport and warehousing providers.
An additional field of activity of the amalgamation is the promotion of cooperation of members among each other as well as the provision of a wide variety of logistical process designed in the interest of its members.
The enterprise is an alliance of medium sized mostly German forwarders involved in the movement of goods. The members of the amalgamation are the forwarding companies listed in the actual member list. Additional members may be taken on. lf such occurs, the economic and regional interests of the existing members shall be taken into account.
All relevant and needed ocean freight rates and others will be purchased centralized by the Head of Procurement (INFORAS Representative) located in Germany and if needed in Hong Kong by the agency of the INFORAS Ltd. Headquarter. lnstead of dealing with several different forwarders, carriers have the opportunity to negotiate with one party representing all others.
The definitive and main target of individual ocean freight contracts with carriers is to keep their present customers and defend actual businesses against third parties.
All bookings on INFORAS contracts in Far East will be carried out directly by members own agents. Freight invoices and others are be paid directly by the individual members.
At present INFORAS members are controlling a total amount of approximate 30.000 TEU Import Far East and approximate 18.000 TEU Export Far East. Back and forth on the South America Trade there is a total amount of 6.500 TEU controlled. INFORAS can offer both, Import and Exportcargo, to carriers.
The activity to nominate relevant carriers for the US and Canada trade lane is under progress.
INFORAS Ltd. is interested in long term partnership with their designated carriers for the mutual benefit of all parties concerned.
